What I'm Writing: Letter to My Alma Mater About Gaza
Hi everyone,
I'm still working on my new collection of essays, Welcome to the Zombie Apocalypse: Essays on Collapse from the Covid-19 Pandemic. This includes putting together a book proposal. Wish me luck finding the right publisher! The essay I'm working on now is about how the pandemic conditioned the world to accept mass death and debility and how this is connected to the horrors unfolding in Gaza. I hope to be able to share the finished piece in a few days.
I'm disappointed (but never surprised) that more people and institutions with power have not called for an end to Israel's destruction of Gaza. I wrote an open letter to the president of my alma mater, Princeton University, highlighting his silence and asking him to break it in favor of calling for a ceasefire, which I consider to be different morally and practically from the "humanitarian pause" that was negotiated.
